Superdrug Talcum Powder - Review

Today I come to you with a slightly unusual if not controversial beauty post. Talcum Powder! I’m not sure how you’ll all feel about it, it’s certainly not a highly discussed product in the beauty blogging community, but I do enjoy using it a lot, ever since I was a wee lass and I ain’t ashamed to admit it. So I thought I’d do a mini review of my favourite one.

Superdrug Talcum Powder Original. The powder comes in a very basic white plastic bottle with a perforated screw top for pouring out the powder. It is delicately fragranced, that said I’ve tried to pinpoint what exactly it smells like, but all I come up with is a pleasant floral that leans towards lavender but is not quite fully there, (yeah I know, I’m great at describing scents).

The talcum powder itself is suitable for all the family (according to the packaging) but truth be told personally I wouldn't use it on babies, theres something about the more commonly associated with babies brand Johnson&Johnson that I’d feel more comfortable using. However for any other age I’d recommend it without a doubt.

The amount of product you get is 250g so it will genuinely last you a lifetime, and for £0.99 its the mother of all bargains! All the same I will say that the first thing on the ingredients list in Talc so for those who are allergic to that should steer away! Another slightly inconvenient thing I’ve found about it is, if you wear dark clothing directly after using the talcum powder, you may find them tarnished with white marks (its not really a big deal, you can easily rub them away) or better yet, don’t wear dark clothing for a few hour after apply the powder.

When/where I use it. Mostly on hot summer days after I’ve just had a cooling shower and want some powder to matt-ify my body (trust me it works wonders). I also use it when putting on tight jeans for the first time (it helps ease them up) and occasionally I use it in place of a deodorant (it surprisingly hold up really well for the duration of the day).

All in all round up:

  • Fragrance is amazing, very soothing
  • Brilliant at mattifying
  • Budget friendly
  • Multifunctional
  • Mess it creates when being used
  • Plain/Simple packaging!

I hope you enjoyed this post, let me know in the comments below if you too use talcum powder and if there are any special ways in which you use it.
